Privacy Policy
For this website while NutBit is getting ready to launch.
Last updated: October 20, 2026
NutBit is a savings-habit app that is launching soon. Right now this website only lets you join the waitlist, sign up to test the beta app, answer a quick poll and contact us. This policy explains what we collect here, why, and what you can do about it. It's short because we collect very little.
If you've been invited to test the NutBit app before launch, the app privacy policy applies to your use of the app.
1. Who is responsible
NutBit is run by Ivan Szabo, Kővirág utca 5, 2040 Budaörs, Hungary. They are responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For anything about your data, email privacy@nutbit.app.
2. What we collect and why
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist we store your email address so we can tell you when NutBit launches. We first send you one email with a link to confirm that the address is yours; you are on the list only once you click it, and we send you nothing else before that. If you don't confirm, we delete your address after 14 days. We keep the date of your sign-up and of your confirmation as proof of your consent. We also note which page you signed up on and which link brought you to the site (for example a NutBit TikTok video), so we know which posts work. This is kept with your sign-up only; we don't use tracking cookies. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or replying to our email, and we'll remove you.
Beta tester sign-up
If you tick "I'd like to test the beta app" we also note that you want to test, which page you signed up on, and when and with which wording you agreed. We use this to invite you to the beta (via Apple's TestFlight) and to email you a few check-ins and a short survey during the test. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Once you use the beta app, the app privacy policy applies.
Contact form
If you write to us we store your name, email address and message to answer you. Legal basis: taking the steps you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering questions about NutBit (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Poll
The "what do you skip" poll stores only the option you picked (and the text, if you choose "other"). It isn't linked to your email or to you. Please don't type personal details into the "other" box.
Technical data
When you open the site, your browser sends your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure. If something breaks on a page, the site also sends us a short error report (the page, browser and device type, and the error message, with email addresses removed) so we can fix it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Website statistics
We use analytics to understand how people find and use this site, which pages and videos are useful, and how to improve them. Today this is the basic analytics built into our hosting platform (Base44). It records the pages you view and when, how long your visit lasts, your device type and operating system, your approximate country (worked out from your IP address by the platform; we don't receive or store the address), the website or link that sent you, and a random visitor code kept in your browser. The code contains no name or email address, and we don't link it to your waitlist, beta or contact entries. We read these statistics only in aggregate. The platform deletes the raw events after 60 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where the law requires it, your consent. You can object at any time by emailing us, and you can block or clear the visitor code in your browser settings.
As NutBit grows we may add or change analytics and measurement tools (for example, to see which videos or links bring visitors). If a tool uses cookies or similar identifiers, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. We don't sell your personal data.
3. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies and similar technologies that aren't strictly necessary are only used with your consent where the law requires it. At the moment the site stores a few small values in your browser's local storage: ones it needs to work (for example, that you've already answered the poll) and the random visitor code used for the website statistics described above. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. Fonts and images are served from our own site — your browser doesn't contact Google or other third parties to show this website.
4. Who processes your data for us
- Base44 (operated by Wix.com Ltd.) hosts this website and stores the waitlist, beta sign-up, poll and contact-form entries and the website statistics. To stop automated spam, our server briefly works out a one-way scrambled code from your IP address (changing every day; the address itself is never stored) to limit how many forms one visitor can send per day. Its sub-processors are listed in Base44's sub-processor list.
- Base44's email service (Twilio SendGrid) sends our emails from info@nutbit.app — for example launch news, beta invites and the copy of your contact-form message that reaches our support inbox. It receives the email address and the message.
Some of our providers process data outside the EU, mainly in the United States and Israel. Israel has an EU adequacy decision. For the United States, transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Unconfirmed sign-ups: deleted after 14 days if you don't click the confirmation link.
- Waitlist email: until we've told you about the launch or you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If you then create an app account, the app privacy policy applies.
- Beta tester sign-up: until the beta ends or you ask us to remove it; if you join the beta, the app privacy policy applies from then on.
- Contact-form messages: as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, then deleted.
- Poll answers: kept as anonymous statistics.
- Website statistics: raw events are deleted by the platform after 60 days.
- Technical logs and error reports: kept for a short period for security and to fix problems, then deleted.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Take your data with you in a machine-readable format (portability).
- Restrict how we use your data, or object to uses based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it. This doesn't affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Email privacy@nutbit.app with the subject "Privacy Request". We answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm it's really you before we hand over or delete anything.
You can also complain to a data protection authority, in particular the one in the EU country where you live, work or where you think the problem happened. In Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu); in Germany, the authority of your federal state. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.
7. Age
NutBit is for people aged 18 and over. Please don't join the waitlist if you're under 18. If you think someone under 18 has given us their details, email privacy@nutbit.app and we'll delete them.
8. Changes
When the NutBit app launches, this policy will be replaced by the app privacy policy. We'll update the date at the top whenever this page changes.
9. Contact
