What NutBit is

A habit tracker with goals and a couple of squirrels. It records the moment you resist an impulse, and the moment you set that amount aside for something you want. It isn't a bank, it doesn't hold money, and it doesn't give advice. That's the design, not fine print.

So how does money move?

Only you move it. NutBit just keeps count.

• Save: you resist something and log it. Nothing moves yet. You've recorded the win.
• Stash: this is the real step. You move that money to an account of your own, or put it in an envelope or your piggy bank. Then you mark it as stashed in NutBit.

Stashing isn't a button that does it for you. You're actually moving your own money, and NutBit records that you did. It never sees your balance, never touches the transfer, and never holds the money. Delete the app tomorrow and your money is exactly where you put it.

Why you do the stash yourself

Some apps do things for you in the background. NutBit is built to make the habit stick, so you're the one who acts. You make the choice, you move your own money, you watch your goal fill. After a few weeks it's yours, with or without an app.

You enter every save and stash yourself, so there's no black box.

• Progress is what you've stashed against your goal.
• Each goal says on track, behind, due soon or overdue.
• Delete a goal and what you stashed toward it moves to your General Stash, so your history still adds up.
• Shared goals: everyone has their own share and does their own stash.
